Lexmark, a global imaging solutions leader, has announced today the appointment of Melanie Ford as Healthcare Industry Consultant for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). Melanie’s appointment reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting direct and indirect customers right across the healthcare vertical.
Melanie is the most recent addition to Lexmark’s Global Healthcare team. She joins an international team of experts, bringing relevant best practices and insights to assist healthcare providers fast track their objectives of improving print and IT efficiency, while dealing with the complex set of challenges faced in the industry.
After three decades in the healthcare sector, initially as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and later as a clinical expert in the realm of Digital Health Records, Melanie brings strategy, knowledge and experience to the Lexmark business in ANZ.
Melanie is a former State and National Board Member of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health (formerly known as HISA), she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to both current and future clients. Her experience includes industry leading healthcare technology and consulting organisations such as Telstra Health and Cerner Corporation. As a Clinical Consultant, she has worked with Silver Chain and Uniting, bringing additional skills in aged, community and disability services.
At Lexmark, Melanie will be tasked primarily with supporting care organisations to bridge gaps in information and efficiency across all facets of healthcare. She will be working side-by-side with customers to solve pain points, cut costs and streamline everyday processes freeing up front line staff to focus on caring for their patients. Melanie will also support customers with innovative, best of breed solutions tailored to specific organisational needs.

Melanie is passionate about the role contemporary technology can provide to the healthcare industry to best support frontline healthcare workers, improve care efficiency and drive the best possible patient outcomes.

As time passed by, I realised software only satisfied part of the solution. Joining Lexmark is an attractive move for me because the company combines its hardware quite seamlessly with cloud-based software solutions,” she added.
Malanie holds a Master’s degree in Nursing, post graduate qualifications in Oncology as well as undergraduate qualifications in Literature, Education and History.
