Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT)

The Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT^®) is a global registry that identifies electronic equipment with lower environmental impacts. EPEAT assesses the environmental aspects of a product throughout its lifecycle, including design for end-of-life, energy conservation and material selection.

Compliance with Criterion 4.9.2.1

Lexmark imaging devices are not designed to prevent the use of a non-Lexmark remanufactured cartridge. Lexmark offers a Regular toner cartridge for our devices that can be remanufactured, refilled or recycled by the customer or any remanufacturer of the customer’s choosing. Compliance with Criterion 4.9.3.2

Lexmark has a zero landfill and incineration policy for all materials collected as part of the Lexmark Cartridge Collection Program (LCCP), including used toner material.  We also strive to minimize the use of waste to energy for materials collected under LCCP.  Since January 2015, more than 75% of the toner material collected through the Lexmark Cartridge Collection Program in North America is being processed into an additive that is used in asphalt pavement.
