The appeal, run by the Trust’s charity Raising Health, was established to support patients at Stewart House in Narborough, who suffer from severe and enduring mental illnesses, in their journey towards recovery. The ward is a crucial component of their recovery process, as patients work with staff to manage their behaviour, medication, and reintegrate with their families and communities.
Physical activity plays a vital role in mental and physical well-being, and Lexmark is committed to providing the necessary resources to help patients at Stewart House. Currently, the ward does not have any exercise equipment, and patients have expressed the desire to exercise in a safe and comfortable environment. With Lexmark's support, the charity aims to transform an unused room into a mini gym, equipped with a recumbent exercise bike, multi-gym, gym mats, and resistance bands. This facility will go beyond core NHS provisions to boost motivation, confidence, and help patients experience the many benefits of physical activity.
Donations from the public, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated and will play a crucial role in helping patients at Stewart House on their road to recovery. Your support will make a difference in the lives of patients and contribute to a brighter future.
“We are very grateful to Lexmark for supporting our fundraising appeal for the Stewart House gym. Physical activity is well-evidenced as supporting mental health; the introduction of a gym will provide a safe and supported environment contributing towards the recovery of our mental health patients at Stewart House.
We invite everyone to join Lexmark in supporting the Stewart House Gym charity appeal and making a positive impact in the lives of patients with mental illness.” Cathy Ellis – Chair of LPT and Raising Health charity
"At Lexmark, we believe in making a positive impact not just through our products and services, but also through our actions. That's why we're proud to support the Stewart House Gym, as we work together to promote wellness and enrich the lives of those in our community." Steve Burford – Enterprise Sales Director UK and Ireland Lexmark
