Lexmark is committed to the environmentally responsible disposal of used electronics.
As an environmentally responsible provider of products and services, Lexmark follows the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive 2012/19/EU.
The objectives of this Directive are:
WEEE became European Law in 2003, covering many electronic products; in 2012, WEEE was expanded to include many consumable related products with electrical content. The updated Directive (2012/19/EU) contains several obligations imposed on producers of electrical and electronic equipment.
In compliance with the Directive, all of Lexmark’s products with electronic content are now labelled per WEEE specifications and comply with European Standard EN50419. Products labelled with the WEEE symbol should be returned to a designated collection point for electrical and electronic equipment recycling, such as through LCCP or LECP.
The WEEE symbol is shown below. The special «crossed out wheeled bin» symbol is placed on products to indicate that waste from electrical and electronic equipment must be returned to a designated collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment recycling.
In the majority of the European countries, we have joined a national collective scheme. These schemes provide the member companies a complete process from collection to recycling and reporting. This allows us to fulfill our obligations according to our market share.
WEEE manuals are available on the Lexmark Web site at Customer Support > Device Support. Search the model, and then click the Manuals tab.
