Job Purpose/Mission/Summary

You will be responsible for applying Scrum to produce high quality work.  Scrum Master duties include managing timelines, resolving problems, and coaching team members on SAFe Agile methodologies.  An advocate for the team and assists them on their continuous improvement initiatives to achieve greater effectiveness, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the delivery of committed SAFe features. Guides the team through Program Increment Planning process.
  • Helps the team define how they want to execute work during sprints/program increments.
  • Facilitates Scrum meetings during Program increment planning and during the sprints.
  • Helps remove impediments for the team.
  • Closely work with the Release Train Engineer to support all relevant ART (agile release train), and coordinates inter team dependencies during PI planning and execution.
  • Guides the team through constant process improvement through sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospective, release planning, and other events as necessary.
  • Champion the use of tools to tie activities at the Delivery Team Level to the Program team level and items at the Portfolio Team Level.
  • Champion the use of tools to track key metrics (lead time, number of defects per release, mean time to recover from defects, deployment frequency).

Competencies, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Must understand Agile theory and SAFe concepts.
  • Must understand Lean theory and concepts (MVP, Iterative Delivery, Learning/Measuring/Adjusting).
  • Must have a Continuous Improvement/Learning mindset.
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP Delivery.
  • Must be organized.
  • Some Program Management skills can be helpful, but this is not Program Management.
  • Conflict Resolution Skills.
  • Team Awareness.
  • Problem Solving.

Education, Experience and Certifications Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science / Computer Engineering/ Industrial Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience working with Agile/Scrum
  • SAFe certifications and experience are a plus
