Electrical Engineering Technologist

This position is for an Electrical Engineering Technologist in the Controller Electronics lab.  You will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and expand on your education and experience through a variety of assignments.  

The applicant does not need to be an engineer but performs professional engineering and scientific assignments of a basic degree of complexity under limited direction and supervision. The applicant will be responsible for maintaining this facility for the use by the engineering staff and associated product engineers. A variety of tasks will be assigned on a daily or weekly basis and the applicant will be responsible for completing these tasks in a timely and accurate fashion.

This is a great roll to gain valuable experience and skills around PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) soldering, rework, and small card builds.


Tasks will include maintaining lab equipment, performing experiments, documenting results and communicating results back to engineering personnel. The applicant is expected to demonstrate electrical technician type work including soldering a finely pitched parts, BGA replacement, and constructing cables or electrical fixtures.  The applicant should be proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, diagrams and schematics to assist in reworking and debugging of complex designs. The applicant may also be expected to handle activities associated with the lab including the purchasing and shipping of parts and assemblies.  

This applicant must be capable of working with a large team of engineers. The person in this position is expected to be meticulous in their organizational skills and have excellent communication skills. The applicant is expected to be proficient with basic Microsoft packages such as Word and Excel.  This person must be flexible as the responsibilities of this job will change daily.  Candidate must be self-directed and able to work with minimum supervision. 

Job Requirements 

  • Two year degree or above in applicable field of study
  • IPC Certification preferred
