Lexmark imaging devices are not designed to prevent the use of a non-Lexmark remanufactured cartridge. Lexmark offers a Regular toner cartridge for its devices that can be remanufactured, refilled or recycled by the customer or any remanufacturer of the customer’s choosing. Lexmark has a zero landfill and incineration policy for all materials collected as part of the Lexmark Cartridge Collection Program (LCCP), including used toner material. Lexmark also strives to minimize the use of waste to energy for materials collected under LCCP. Therefore, starting in January 2015, more than 75% of the toner material collected through the Lexmark Cartridge Collection Program in North America is being processed into an additive that is used in asphalt pavement.
All cartridges produced by or recommended by Lexmark for use in its imaging devices are not designed to prevent their reuse and recycling. The Lexmark Return Program cartridge must be returned to Lexmark for remanufacturing or recycling.
