Lexmark’s multifunction printers are the first MFPs to be enabled with CAC authentication for the DoD, and the first to be installed in a production DoD environment. Lexmark’s CAC security provides strong authentication to the network validating the user PIN to the card and the card’s x.509 certificate to the network and the revocation list to ensure a valid card and valid user of the card.

The solution is further enhanced by enabling the following important features of an MFP:

Scan to e-mail with the user’s e-mail address automatically applied to the e-mail
Scan to user’s home directory through Active Directory permissions
Scan to network folders with permissions controlled through Active Directory
Kerberos security
Confidential Print Release enabling confidential print jobs to be released from any MFP on the network via the user’s CAC
Card validation through Active Directory or OCSP for Tumbleweed or Corestreet
Flexible and easy configuration options for administrators
