Chief Legal and Compliance Officer
Brent Lambert is Lexmark’s senior vice president, chief legal and compliance officer, and secretary. He is responsible for the company's worldwide legal, government affairs, compliance, internal audit, data privacy, and security functions. He also acts as corporate secretary and primary liaison to its board of directors.
In addition, Lambert serves as Lexmark’s national security officer, tasked with protecting U.S. national security interests and ensuring compliance with Lexmark’s National Security Agreement with the U.S. Departments of Defense and Homeland Security. Lambert is the company’s lead legal adviser on key areas of corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, complex financial transactions, compliance, commercial and IP litigation, government affairs, international trade, and data privacy.
In 2018 and 2019, Lambert served on an executive management committee that led Lexmark during the search for a new CEO. Before assuming his role as chief legal and compliance officer in July 2017, Lambert served as the company’s chief intellectual property counsel, where he was responsible for managing the company’s intellectual property portfolio and strategy.
Before joining Lexmark in 1998, Lambert worked in private practice at the law firm of Moore & Van Allen PLLC in Durham, N.C.
Lambert holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida and a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law.
